Requests for banners for winners and nominees will be taken at the post directly below this one up until 1/15.
The Winter 2010 Tammys were the last ones that will be held on Livejournal. From now on, they will be moved to another site. For those in need of award fixes, there are other entities around to fulfill those champagne wishes and caviar dreams.
I will be archiving the past awards, cleaning up things, so that it remains a fun record of past good times. Thank you to everyone who contributed in a positive manner to these games, you know who you are. Thank you to Lexie, for moderating this year. She did an amazing job.
The Tammys were never about "awards". They were about people getting together, on the red carpet, and interacting with muses and fandoms that they might not get to see, in their usual game playing. Those people who got that always seemed to have fun getting to know new muses and fandoms. I know that I was exposed to many new writers, fandoms and communities through the awards, and it was a lot of fun putting them on. But things have their time, and then they go on, whether it be LJ, Tammys or other things.
So, congratulations to all of the past nominees, winners and players. Thank you to the past presenters, mods and contributers. I want to especially thank Hermes (and his mun) for the annual smiting fun, and John Stamos' mun for being a wonderful sport.
Remember, you don't have to covet a golden ass to be one, and you don't need a trophy to be a winner.
Cheers! | |

Vivid pictures, poetry, ruminations, and confessions from the nether hours between dusk and dawn. Originally formed to celebrate the city at night, there's a strong urban theme.

wtf_sexismSelf-described as "a little community with a lot of rage," you can soak up impassioned vibes and read blistering exposes detailing sexist attitudes in the news, pop culture, and science! A must-join community if you are, or love, a feminist. (NB: the topic of whether a "man" can be a feminist is outside the scope of this spotlight, but will probably wind up on the Writer's Block.)

First and foremost, I want to give a standing ovation to its_notluck for her amazing and hard work running the awards this year. She really did an awesome job. *applause* Now, to all of the winners and nominees? We have banners! So, leave us a comment here, and let us know what awards you want listed on your banner, and I will make it up for you. It will take me a little time, but I will get to them all. The banners were designed by scholarslayouts, who also created the new layout for us. She does beautiful work, and is such a sweetheart. If you need a layout, icons, banners or anything, go check her out. She has premade layouts for free, and also does custom work for really nominal costs. Finally, I want to thank everyone who participated. This has been a rough year for many people, and we know that people are so busy and stressed. The Tammys always give us a chance to see muses, fandoms and communities that we might not get to see, otherwise, and I know I admire the writing of so many people here on LJ. Thank you to everyone who participates. As we always say, it isn't about prizes, it's about people, and getting to see and know each other. Thank you again to Lexie, who is really awesome, as both a mod and a person. Hooray!

As the dance scene shows on the screen, actual dancers start filtering out onto the stage to follow the exact same steps as they had showed in the movie. If everyone else could capitalize on the Glee craze that was going on at the moment, why couldn't Jay and mother effen Silent Bob? At the last note of music and while the dancers strike a pose, a few get knocked down from the back as a rather spastic dancing Jay comes out from behind. He twists around and spins, rocking his head to the music still pumping from the stereo that Silent Bob is holding over his head. Well, it looks like Jay and Silent Bob except they're dressed up as their alter-egos Bluntman and Chronic. ( Boo-boo-what? )

As soon as the last presenters are done, Ryan emerges from stage right with a microphone in hand. He looks out at the audience with a grin and waits for it to quiet down. "And so we conclude the first half of our show. Congratulations to all the winners so far. I'm a little surprised it took someone as long as it did to pull a Kanye in section one. What took you so long, Deadpool?" he chuckles before taking a walk to the other side of the stage. "I'm also taking bets on how long it takes before someone does a remix of it on YouTube. If it's less than two hours, I'm airing it on my radio show Monday morning." Making his way back to the middle of the stage, he accepts his envelopes and takes the podium. "Alright, so let's get section four started! The first award is for Oustanding Canon Fic - Long Form. Your nominees are: ( Section Four )

Connor stood backstage, watching the host introduce the next presenters from behind the large velvet curtains. Glancing behind him, he looked over at his brother. "There's a fuckload of people, out there, Murph. Do ye still get stage fright?" he snickered, digging into his inside pocket for his pack of smokes. " Hey, fuck you," Murphy hissed back, looking up from his own attempt to find his cigarettes within the folds of his coat. " You're the fuckin' moron that nearly pissed himself, second grade." "At least I didn't toss my cookies all over Miss McLoughlin's shoes in the third." He arched an eyebrow pointedly before lighting up and looking back at the crowd. "Oh ... fuck off. Is that ... no, it can't be. Y'know.. I think I see Charlie Bronsan out there." Murphy lit up in time with him and took a drag. Then, viciously, he was jabbing his cigarette in his brother's direction, careful not to get too close with the lit end -- the last thing he needed was Connor telling stories about how he'd set him on fire at some stupid award show. " Fuck you on both counts. And get your fuckin' eyes checked." Turning slowly, a bitter expression took over Connor's face as he mirrored his brother by pointing his finger. "Get my eyes checked ye say?" He let out a scoff while his other hand flew out and cuffed Murphy upside the head. "Ye wanna talk about gettin' eyes checked. That's Charlie fuckin' Bronsan and I'm willin' t'bet money on it." He waved his brother's hand away, mirroring the look he'd given him. " Whatever. Let's just get th' fuck out there. Y'can go give Charlie Bronsan an' Duke Wayne an' all th' fuckin' pink elephants y'run into on th' way a handjob after we're done, yeah?" Connor swung past the curtain, taking a few steps out onto the stage. "Where the fuck did ye hear that shite? Barney and Friends? Jesus fuck ... " Connor looked up, took a long drag of his cigarette and shook his head. "Whatta ya all fuckin' lookin' at? Let's just present some of these fuckin' awards so we can go get us a beer." You people out there give us something more than just record sales You give us something to hate And we hate you, you brainless mutants
There's a moment of silence, and then something that looks suspiciously like the bastard child of a coffin and an iron maiden falls from the sky, hitting the stage with a dull thump. It shudders once, threatening to tip over for a moment, and then stops, Nathan Explosion of Dethklok fame stepping out of it. He looks over the crowd, all but ignoring the armed, hooded guards that appear from the wings of the stage as they move to stand behind him, and lumbers up to the microphone. He clears his throat and reaches into his pocket, pulling out a pair of reading glasses that are almost ridiculously too small for his face and puts them on. A stack of messily arranged papers follow, and he tries to put them into some semblance of order as he leans into the microphone drunkenly. " HEY. HEY, JACKOFFS. HEY. I'VE, UH, BEEN ASKED HERE TO PRESENT SOME AWARDS OR, I DUNNO, SOMETHING, SO ... YEAH." ( ....... )

"Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the Winter 2010 Tammy Awards! Join us in celebrating the writers, roleplayers and communities which come from near and far, from this lifetime and others both past and present. Now, coming to us from the velvet ropes and the red carpet outside the auditorium, give a warm welcome to our host, Ryan Seacrest!" Standing somewhere amongst a throng of arrivals, Ryan seemingly doesn't realize he's on air and mumbles something about being better than John Stamos when he recieves his cue...
"Hello and welcome to the 2010 Winter Tammy's. As you can see, we're gearing up for hopefully another memorable show. We have tons of new and old faces arriving. I actually took less money to do this gig in hopes of running into that little fat ass Eric Cartman, can you believe that? No, actually I'm kidding. They had to pay me double just in case he was here and triple if Simon decided to show up." Hears a voice somewhere in the distance that sounds oddly like the Idol judge.
"Anyways, we're going to have a great show and see some great talent and give out some well deserved awards." Though the camera's are off, the sound still feeds through the entire area. "If anyone sees that Sylar dude, tell me. Better yet, don't let him point at me. I think I inadvertantly cut him off. Or maybe that was Spock.." [OOC: Here's the rules. No wank, no drama, no godmodding, or attacking others OOC'ly. IC shenanigans are welcome (and might be encouraged), but remember to keep it IN CHARACTER. Anything that looks to be crossing the IC/OOC lines will be deleted. Done deal. The red carpet will go on throughout the weekend, so feel free to come in at any time. ALL MUSES are welcome whether you are eligible for awards or not. Important thing here, and cannot be stressed enough, is havng FUN!
|
The voting is over, the counting is done and the envelopes are ready!
Look for the red carpet post to go up sometime this evening. Have your muses arrive in a limo, on foot, in a cart or however you want. Pose for pictures, mingle and meet some new people while hanging out with old friends.
The actual awards themselves will be going up tomorrow, starting in the morning. We look forward to seeing everyone coming out and having a lot of fun with this.
Hope everyone had a good New Years!

TWO DAYS!
There are only two days left in the voting for the Tammys.
You have till 6 p.m. UTC on Thursday, December 31, 2009. After that, we won't be taking any more votes so that the awards can start this weekend.
Also, any old presenters or new presenters who want to help out with presenting the awards this time can leave me a message here about who you want to present with and for what section. I'll also need emails of where I can send the list of winners to. Thanks! :)
